WHY STARTING A TEA BUSINESS IS LIKE AN EMAIL

What do you do when an idea of owning your own tea business (or any other type of business) is “emailed” to your thought processes?
As I was reading my email today and saving some, deleting some, forwarding and replying to others, it struck me how many times we do this with ideas that we have. When you have the idea of opening your own tea business, what do you do with it? Save it? Delete it? Forward it? Reply (or actually do something) with it?
Some of you really would like to own your own tea business, or any other type of business for that matter. Do you save it? Saving it would be like filing it in a folder somewhere to be taken out at a later date. You have a good idea, but either don’t take the time or don’t think you can really do it, so you file it away. Many times these ideas are just forgotten.
Some just delete the idea of owning their own small business. They think it would be too expensive or that they are just not creative enough. They never even give the idea a chance. They automatically think that they can’t do it so they delete it.
Forwarding the idea would be similar to doing a little research on the internet to see what other people have done or written about the idea. Maybe you bookmark several sites to visit again when it is more convenient or you have more time. Sometimes you go back and visit these sites or eventually you delete them after they have been sitting in your favorites for some time.
Maybe it’s time you did something about the idea of owning your own tea business. So reply to that "email" idea. After all, there are so many ways to have a tea business. You don’t have to open a tea room, you can have a tea bar, a tea retail/gift shop, a tea party catering business, offer classes on tea etiquette and manners, consult on children’s tea parties, repackage and sell tea from your own home, become a tea expert speaker, or teach classes at the community college. There are so many ways to have a full time or part time tea business. The point is, if you love tea, there are many ways to market that love into a business.
These ideas are not just for a person who wants to own a tea business. Opening any kind of business still requires the same basic principles and understandings. Don’t delete your ideas. Reply to them and go for it!
New Tea Tip
If you would like to increase your business here is an idea that might help. Each month have a special event at your tea business. Examples: Class on how to host a tea party, tea cupping demonstration, green tea tasting on St. Pat's Day, black tea tasting, teddy bear tea, Dads and Daughters tea, American Doll tea, story book tea, tea book club meeting, etc.
Let you imagine take over. There are so many ways to promote your business. Contact your local newspaper to see if they have free listings of upcoming events in their food section.
UPCOMING TEA EVENTS

Speciality Tea Institute Level 3 Certification, San Francisco, California
Marach 27-29, 2006:
