HOME PARTIES AND SALES PRESENTATIONS

Home parties and sales presentations is another idea for a tea business. This can either be part or full time. It is less expensive to start a home parties business as you won’t have to rent/lease office or restaurant space.

This is a type of tea business that would be similar to home parties like Tupperware or Pampered Chef. You would take all you tea and tea accouterments with you to use for demonstration.

One way to do this would be to have a tea tasting of the teas that you are selling. This would allow you to educate your clients on how to brew tea as well as demonstrate the use of the inventory you have to sell.

You would have to decide on how much inventory you want to have on hand and how many different kinds of tea you will have available for sale. You might offer your hostess gifts depending on how much in sales is generated at her party. You might also have incentives for how many bookings you get from the party. You could have tea cards with a free 4 ounces of tea for every 10 4-ounce bags of tea your clients purchase from you.

You could use some of the same ideas and incentives that other in-home parties use to generate sales and to book parties. Only your imagination will limit you.

This type of tea business is good for the stay at home mom who wants extra income. You have control over how many hours you want to work each week. You also have control over what tea merchandise you have available for sale.

This type of business would require a resale license obtained from your state’s Dept. of Taxation. You can find this at your state’s department of revenue online.

This type of business would also lend itself to craft fairs, holiday parties, and farmer’s markets. You could combine this with other women who sell other products such at Mary Kay, Cookie Lee, Avon, Jafra, Pampered Chef, etc. You can have an evening party or have it for an entire day and invite your whole neighborhood to come.
